DESCRIPTION
After meeting growers and producers from around Japan and tasting 100's of different types of matcha we are very excited to present our very first organic matcha, KOU.
In the extensive search for an Organic product worthy of the MICHI brand, we have found farmers pioneering the modern farming techniques, necessary to create truely exceptional organic matcha.
Grown in Kagoshima in the south of Japan, this Organic Ceremonial Matcha has been produced according to the strict guidelines of the JAS (Japan Agricultural Standard) and is certified organic*.
The Blend: Saemidori + Okumidori
Not to be confused with Samidori, the Saemidori variety is mostly used in organic farming where creating superior tasting organic teas is often a challenge. It has a stronger aroma and is known to be an early bloomer meaning it has a short harvest window and produces smaller yields.
Okumidori is a slow bloomer, comming in to bloom later in the season after the Saemidori harvest means the farmers can make full use of the harvest season.
SERVING SUGGESTION
Usucha (thin tea) or as latte with coconut milk.
