By accessing or using any part of the Site, placing an order, or otherwise engaging with our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Refund Policy, each of which forms part of these Terms by reference. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, customers, vendors and contributors, wherever in the world they are located.

2. Eligibility & Account Information
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when placing an order or creating an account, and to keep this information up to date — including your email address and payment details — so that we can complete transactions and contact you if needed.
3. Products, Pricing & Availability
All prices are listed in EURO and are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to:
- modify or discontinue the Service;
- limit or refuse sales of any product to any person, geographic region or jurisdiction;
- limit the quantities of any product or service we offer; and
- discontinue any product.
We make every effort to display the colours, packaging and details of our products as accurately as possible, but cannot guarantee that your device's display will be completely accurate.
Occasionally the Site may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions relating to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, shipping charges, transit times or availability. We reserve the right to correct such errors and to update or cancel orders if information is found to be inaccurate, even after an order has been submitted.
4. Worldwide Shipping & Customs
We ship worldwide. As part of our commitment to operating sustainably, we order in small, regular batches directly from our suppliers in Japan rather than holding large amounts of stock — this means your order may not be dispatched immediately. If dispatch is expected to take longer than 7 days, we will notify you by email.
For orders shipped outside the Netherlands and the European Union, your order may be subject to import duties, taxes and customs fees levied by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in the item price or shipping cost. We are not responsible for any delays caused by customs processing.
Shipping timelines provided at checkout are estimates. Delays that occur once a package leaves our hands (for example, due to customs or carrier issues) are outside of our control and we are not liable for them.
5. Returns, Cancellations & Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer based in the European Union, EU consumer protection law generally gives you a 14-day "right of withdrawal" for online purchases, allowing you to cancel your order and return the goods for any reason within 14 days of receipt, for a full refund.
[Some sellers of food and beverage products rely on an exemption for goods that are "liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly" — whether this applies to matcha is not clear-cut and should be confirmed with a legal advisor before relying on it.]

We are not responsible for examining or evaluating, and do not warrant, the content, accuracy, products or practices of any third-party sites or services. Any dealings you have with such third parties are solely between you and them.
Our Service relies on third-party platforms — including our e-commerce platform provider and payment processors — to operate. Use of these features may also be subject to those providers' own terms and privacy policies.
7. Prohibited Uses
In addition to other restrictions in these Terms, you may not use the Site or its content:
(a) for any unlawful purpose; (b) to solicit others to perform or participate in unlawful acts; (c) to violate any international, national, regional or local laws or regulations; (d) to infringe our intellectual property rights or those of others; (e) to harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, disability, or any other protected characteristic; (f) to submit false or misleading information; (g) to upload or transmit viruses, malware or any other malicious code; (h) to collect or track the personal information of others; (i) to spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl or scrape the Site; (j) for any obscene or immoral purpose; or (k) to interfere with or circumvent the security features of the Site or related services.
We reserve the right to terminate your access to the Service for violating any of these prohibited uses.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties; Limitation of Liability
We do not guarantee, represent or warrant that your use of our Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
The Service and all products delivered through it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MICHI, its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, suppliers and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages — including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or replacement costs — arising from your use of the Service or any products purchased through it, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including statutory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence.

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless MICHI and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.
If you are a consumer residing in the EU/EEA, the UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, nothing in this section affects any rights you have under the laws of your country of residence that cannot be waived by agreement.

We may update or replace these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on this page. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
12. Severability
